Wow, this is a very strongly worded argument. The author or authors of this article must really hate whatever video game they would like to ban. In my opinion "SkyRim" is not so bad that it should be banned from everyone in the United States, but maybe simply from children.
There is definitely some slippery slope involved in this argument. They are saying that the video game contributes to social, ethical and health problems. Did they ever think that maybe the kids who play these games are going to have these problems anyways? If not video games, I'm sure they could find something else to do.
Yeah it probably could be. There is no way the game can be solely to blame for the problems. It is not fair to blame the gaming company. They simply tried to create a game that would give them some revenue.
I'm seeing a whole lot of slippery slope

Don't you agree?
Yes, I agree that they can't put the sole blame on the game, there's obviously other problems. I guess that could be a non causa pro causa fallacy?

ReplyDeleteI completely agree as well. There are clearly other problems
